We are trying to set up an IP Office to run behind a CM R11. It's an si with the old processor. We are using a TN464 on the CM end and a T1 card in the IPO.

For some reason, we can't come up with a configuration to get it to talk to each other. We've tried T1 channels, ISDN, QSIG, and various combinations.

Does anyone have a method how to get the two to talk to each other?

Thanks

I use E & M | Tie | Wink-Start on the IPO side.

And Tie (Trunk type Wink-Wink) on the Definity side.

Thanks for the advice.

For some reason, we are not coming up.

I suspect it could be wiring. We are coming off of the 66 block on the V-O and V-G pairs and connecting to pins 1,2,4 and 5 on the RJ45 plug. We are not using a CSU.

We may need to make another 75 mile trip to verify the wiring, maybe bring an integrated CSU to see if that will connect via a patch cord.

Any other ideas? There are two of us losing precious hair follicles over this one.

Sorry if I'm asking the obvious, but did you roll the pairs between the IPO and the CM? (Transmit to Receive)

Per my partner, he did roll them when he was on site. I suppose it does not hurt to double-check our work, I did make a mistake once before but that was many years ago (just kidding).

Any time you go Switch to switch to will need a cross over cable. The cross is pins 1,2,4,5. So 1 to 4 and 2 to 5.

Thanks all. Problem resolved.

One of our techs went down with an Adtran and plugged it into the CM side. The T1 came up right away. Then he took the Adtran out and reconnected directly and the T1 came up and stayed up.

We are assuming it wasn't wired correctly in the first place.
