How do you define the "D" channel for a DS1 configuration.

I hope this is what you are after. I have set a couple of them up before. Add sig n This will let you add the next signaling group. In my case it was for some trunks and i used the 24 port of my TN 464F pack. You cant use a TN 767.

Again, I hope this is what you are after.

If you are configuring PRI services you can use the information from mikeydidit. He is correct. It looks like you may be asking about adding the DS1 card. In that case it's a simple as "add DS1 UUCSS". In the configuration add the line coding, framing mode and signaling mode. In a lot of configuration you would add "b8zs" for line coding "esf" for framing mode and "robbed-bit" for the signaling mode. Also change the CSU to internal if you are using a ICSU.

Sorry my question was rushed and very unclear.
Here's my real question:
We have just installed a VRU box with a 4 port dialogic card. The card is set up for connection to 4ess (PRI-B8ZS-ESF).
From the PBX side we are emulating T1 signal via TN464F with an ICSU.
I have configured the DS1 card in the switch as follows:
Bit Rate: 1.544 Line Coding: b8zs
Line Compensation: 1 Framing Mode: esf
Signaling Mode: isdn-pri
Connect: line-side
CentreVu Long Timers? y Country Protocol: 1
Interworking Message: PROGress Protocol Version: a
Interface Companding: mulaw CRC? n
Idle Code: 00000000
DCP/Analog Bearer Capability: 3.1kHz

Slip Detection? y Near-end CSU Type: integrated
Alarm When PRI Endpoint Detached? n

ESF DATA LINK OPTIONS
Network Management Protocol: tabs
Send ANSI-T1.403 One-Second Performance Reports? n
Far-end CSU Address: b

INTEGRATED CSU OPTIONS
Transmit LBO: 0db
Receive ALBO: 26db
Upon DTE LOS: loopback

CPE LOOPBACK JACK OPTIONS
Supply CPE Loopback Jack Power? y

MY SIGNALING GROUP IS AS FOLLOWS:
Group Number: 9 Group Type: isdn-pri
Associated Signaling? y Max number of NCA TSC: 0
Primary D-Channel: 03d1724 Max number of CA TSC: 4
Trunk Group for NCA TSC:
Trunk Group for Channel Selection: 4
Supplementary Service Protocol: a

ONCE I ADD MEMBERS TO MY TRUNK GROUP AND STATUS, I GET A "OUT-SERVICE-NE".
When I status the signaling group it is out of service as well. With the ICSU, I would think it would at least get loopback and give signal indication.

SO WHAT ADVICE OR TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS CAN YOU GUYS GIVE ME??
Thanks.

I just came across your post and was wondering if you made it work. We are using the D/240 and D/480 Dialogic cards and we did not set them up as ISDN. Our's is set up as AMI-basic, D4, Robbed-bit, Mulaw, Idle code 11111111, Near-end CSU Type: Other. Each of the 24 ports on each T-1 is set up just like an extension with the type set at VRUFD. The Software guys had to play with the signalling a little, but it works fine. We were even able to strip the EWT and QPOS off and send to our SQL server for display on our Web site.

Hope this is a help, I would be happy to send you our configuration data for the VRUs and the Definity.

Hi ,
I have followinfg requirement
Avaya Definity swicth(Multivantage) is to be integrated with the DMs 100 using ISDN PRI T1 .we have configured the ds1 card as follwows

Bit Rate: 1.544 Line Coding: b8zs
Line Compensation: 1 Framing Mode: esf
Signaling Mode: isdn-pri
Connect: pbx Interfacde: user
Long Timers? y Country Protocol: 1
Interworking Message: PROGress Protocol Version:c
Interface Companding: mulaw CRC? n
Idle Code: 11111111
DCP/Analog Bearer Capability:3.1kHz

Slip Detection? n Near-end CSU Type: none Alarm When PRI Endpoint Detached? n

However D channel is out of service
your early response will be apprciated
thanks

For your DS1:

I have configured the DS1 card in the switch as follows:
Bit Rate: 1.544 Line Coding: b8zs
Line Compensation: 1 Framing Mode: esf
Signaling Mode: isdn-pri
Connect: line-side
CentreVu Long Timers? y Country Protocol: 1
Interworking Message: PROGress Protocol Version: a
Interface Companding: mulaw CRC? n
Idle Code: 00000000
DCP/Analog Bearer Capability: 3.1kHz

Try changing your Connect: from line-side to PBX and set your Interface to network. That will make your Definity emulate a 5ESS.
