Does anyone have any comments on the "ease" of uppgrading from BCM 3.6 to 4.0? Just wondering if there are any issues with it and if the keycodes will need to be regenerated?
Thanks

acewarlock... send me an e-mail at marcus.kimmer@gmail.com and we can deiscuss how to get that pre-check tool

The precheck tool is pretty good. However my BCM 1000 upgrade from 3.6 stated that I had a unknown Hard disk. The upgrade was fine. Also it's a good idea to have the default BCM Login & Password set as the precheck tool will bring up a error message if you are using any other ID & passwords.

Afer the upgrade has been done, you will have to reset the passwords as ALL of the previous passwords will have been deleted!.

Another useful problem after I had done the upgrade was this..

Question

The BCM upgrade to 4.0 was fine, but I've noticed that the Power LED on the front faceplate is now showing RED.
I've checked the connections inside the BCM & have re powered it again. The LED shows Green for a while during power up,
but then goes back to Red.
The odd thing is that when I check the LED status from within Element Manager, The power light is Green?.
All the other lights are Green as well. ie Temp & Fans etc,
The other LED lights on the front faceplate are also Green. The BCM system is working Fine.

Answer

The Power LED on the BCM front faceplate is no longer a power LED for BCM 4.0 software, its now an Alarm LED.
Until you reset the LED's (in Element Manager) it will remain in a Red state.
To do this, go into "Administration" from the Task Navigation Panel & select the "General" folder.
Click on the "Alarm" tab. Look for a Alarm ID of 10906, (which is to do with the System Startup).
It should list the Power LED = solid red; Status LED = Off. Highlight the line that the Alarm is listed against
& click on the "Reset LEDs" button. This should now change the Power LED back to Green!.

I'd thought that this may help some of you out!.
