Hi,

I need to add an S1 array to the on-board scsi port on the sunfire v240. I don't know if I need to set the hostid on the S1, which defaults to 0. I attached the array and can write to it but if I issue this to check the scsi sync speeds, only 4 drives appear which are the 4 internal drives on the v240. There are 3 drives in the S1 which are not showing.

What command can I issue to see the scsi ids used on a system? cfgadm shows the drives and iostat -en shows them but I don't see them here.

Any info would help.

Thanks
Christine

Also, I have a v440 with an external disk drive set at ID 5 and the prtpicl on that shows the device.

# prtpicl -v | grep sync
:no-dma-interrupt-sync
:target0-sync-speed 320000
:target1-sync-speed 320000
:target2-sync-speed 320000
:target3-sync-speed 320000
:target5-sync-speed 40000

Any idea how I can get the v240 to see the S1?
thanks

I spoke with a tech at Sun who said the prtpicl doesn't report the same with the v240 as it does for the v440, which is why it didn't show up.
