hi gurus,

what is the solaris command syntax to connect to another unix box that is connected to my serial port? already configured ttya & ttyb

thanks in advance.

tip hardwire is the correct command if you have a null moedem cable attached to the client serial ttya and the host ttyb.

usage for ttya on host would be;
tip hardwire -9600 /dev/term/a

Thanks

check /etc/remote there are some predefined connections; "hardwire" is one of them; the CLI to the "dialing" function is tip (as mentioned above)
