I have read previous posts on adding a parameter in a command statement. I am using Crystal XI
Part 1) I got my report to work but have a problem in that I am prompted for the command parameter and then prompted again for this same parameter in the report parameters entry section. I do not want the user to have to enter this value in twice.
Part 2) The reason I am doing the command parameter is that when I tried to use a cascading parameter not all the fields were returned in the drop down selection list. I forwarded this problem to my Crystal instructor and he found that at 10,000 rows of data the cascading parameter did not work, but if he cut it down to 5,000 rows it did work. What I am looking for is that in my data each person who worked on a case is listed in the StudyClinicians table. Their role and full name are columns in the table. I am trying to narrow down the number of names in the selection list to only those associated with a certain role. Is anyone aware of cascading prompts not working with too many lines of data?
Any suggestions. Let me know info you need if this was not clear enough.
Thanks,
Jen
