Hi,

How can i get the command history with date stamp and ip address from where the telnet session has started.

"Last" command gives IP Address and the duration, .sh_history file contains the command history, how do i connect these two and also the date and time stamp , so that i get a meaningful output for the script i want to write

COMMAND IP ADDRESS DATE TIME

Hi Padmaswamy

You can use /usr/bin/lastcomm command after running
the command /usr/sbin/acct/startup..

I answered you the same for your another poster pertaining to the same question...

Hello,

My admin says, there is no folder called "acct" in the following path.

/usr/sbin/

Unable to issue the command

/usr/sbin/acct/startup.

Kindly help

Think he means /usr/sbin/acctadm and I think you have to mess about with a file called /etc/accadm.conf.

man acctadm should point you in the right direction as I have never used this command.

You just can't get the staff these days. :)

On by the way lastcomm uses a directory called /var/adm/pacct again check the manual for more info.

And the start up stuff is

/usr/lib/acct/startup
/usr/lib/acct/shutacct

or

/etc/init.d/acct
