Why is it that I cant see a printer locally connected to a windows 2k machine by window 98 machines? The printer is shared and my xp machines have no problem seeing it. Could it be that I am using a USB connection. This is the only change that has occured. I also have another printer connected to the windows 2k machine (hp 4100n) and the 98 machines can see it and print thru it. Any suggestions or comments?

Thanks in advance.

What type of printers are giving you the problem?

I have found that with a Deskjet 940 connected to a NT4.0 machine, a computer running XP cannot print to it. H.P. says that the problem is that the deskjets are not supported for networking and XP will not access them across anetwork.

Any printer that is networkable XP will access.

The printer is a 1220c HP Deskjet. My problem is the 98 machines will not see it.
