It's been awhile, but I remember that programming with hyperterm or through a phone is cumbersome. I'd get VMMI from the Vertical website, but how about those search engine skills?
You have to use VMMI to program a DXP. Also you will need a DB9 to RJ45 adapter so you can connect your laptop to it. Here is the pinout for the DB9 adapater:
RJ45-DB9F (most headshells wire out this way) You really only need 2,3, and 5 for this to work
1=nc
2=Red
3=Green
4=nc
5=Black
6=nc
7=Yellow
8=nc
Use a reversing 4wire telephone base cord between this head shell and the “Com” port on the Comdial system. Many times I have just borrowed a phone cord from a system telephone if I needed one.
Turn DIP switch number ONE to on on the DXCPU and plug your cable into RS232 1. Connect at 9600 8N1
