Thanks for all the help on combo boxes from relevant threads. HOwever, my problem is the second combo box brings up the value relevant to the second combo box, but I want the value to appear in the text box without clicking and bringing the value up again. Is that possible? It's like making the default value always the first record. Anyone know how this is possible? Thanks.

I 'm not sure if I get what you mean, but let's try anyway.
You want your combo to show something related to the first record in your form.
When a form opens, it opens on the first record. So, if you set the default value of your cbo to the related field in your form it might already do the trick.
If you use cbo1 to set fiters etc, you might want to reset the value of cbo2. Somewhere in your code on cbo1_onclick you probably got 'me.requery'.
Add cbo2 = me.VeryImportantField.
