Combo Box Wait Time

I use combo boxes quite often, but this one is new to me:

I use 2 combo boxes on a form for data entry. When I first open the form and select a value from either combo box, there is a long delay before the field is updated. It's like Access is searching for something. The values appear immediately in the drop down and the delay comes when I select a value. The second combo box works as expected.

I get the same delay no matter which combo box I use first; then the other one is fine.

Are they bound to an underlying table, or are you creating a recordsource in code via ADO/DAO???

The combo box is bound to a table and stores the value in the open form. Brian

Are these effects only witnessed on one form, or is it common to all forms within the database???

It appears to be happening on all forms in the DB. Brian

Are the tables stored in the same file, or as linked tables to another mdb? If so, where is this mdb stored? James Goodman

There are no linked tables. Even when I change the combo box to values I typed in the wizard it still happens. Brian
