Combo Box Contents Being Cleared out

I have a subform that filters combo boxes based upon the prior box selection (combobox 2 uses combobox 1 as the record source). I then move forward to the next record and input new combobox selections (combobox 1 & 2). However, when I go back to the previous record the combo box selections are cleared out. I have no idea why. I am also using a combobox2.requery in the combobox1 afterupdate() event. My db is useless at this point without this and I've spent a great deal of time with no success trying to figure this out.

I just noticed that the records are being saved in the tables, but other than the last record added, the other records combo boxes are blanked out.

I take it combobox1 and combobox2 are bound controls. How does the subform filter combobox1?

Combobox 1 and combobox2 are both in the subform and filter thorugh combobox2 record source being set to combobox1 input.

is it a continuous subform? they tend to have many problems when trying to set properties of different controls. i believe that access applies any changes to all of the controls on the continuous form, so when you select a value in combo1 to set the recordsource of combo2, every combo2 has its recordsource adjusted. i am not certain about this, but i believe i have seen it around in these forums before.

Spizotfl: I'm not sure what a continous form is, but what your suggesting makes absolute sense as that is exactly what is happening. Any known workarounds that you've seen?

not that i know of... i fought with this for awhile and then gave up that plan and came up with something entirely different. a continuous form is sort of a cross between a datasheet and a regular single record form. you can arrange controls and so some stuff like on a regular form, but the form shows multiple records, top to bottom, as many of you have.
