Hello:

I'm using Paint Shop Pro 7. I'm not sure how to quite explain what I'm trying to do. The best way is for me illustrate. Please visit the following URL:

I have an image which should be the bottom image. I have a second image which I would like to place on top of the bottom image but I want it faded into the bottom image.

Similar to the word Swift and the picture of the truck.

Can anyone tell me how I can achieve this?

I also have Paint Shop Pro 10 if needed.

Thank you for your help.

Actually the image of the truck in that page is part of a Flash animation, and the word Swift is a completely separate image altogether.

But if i understand what you mean, you want to superimpose 2 images.

Its quite simple, open both of the images you want to join together, and then create a third blank image of the size you want preferrably one that can acommodate them.

With the blank image ready, go to the imae you want to have as a bottom image and pres Cntrl+C or right click and select copy.

Go to your blank image and press Cntrl+L or right click and select paste as new layer.

do the same to the second image, and you should then have each image on a separate layer.

You can now manipulate the opacity of your top image so it melds with the bottom one. you can move one image around without affecting the other one.

Once you have them the way you want them, Go to the file manu and select the Export feature and choose JPeg optimizer, set the compression to around 20% and save the file.

Thank you for your reply. I will give it a try.

Hello:

I tried your suggestion. The procedure worked. I was able to get the two images on top of each other.

I wish there was a way I can attach the image so you can see my result.

I wasn't able to get any of the images to blend into each other. I have my bottom image as is. And, the top image has the corners. I can't seem to get rid of the corners of the image.

If what you want is to Have some text on an image have you considered using the text tool.

Second i forgot to mention that the image you want to be the top should be transparent, so that the corers don't show.

Form your original image select using the magic wand tool, the parts that yu don;t wish to carry over to the other imge, and then go to the Selection Menu and choose invert to select the parts you do want. You should then be able to paste it inot a new layer without the corners. once there play around with the blend modes from the layer pallete and the opacity levels until you get something you like.
