We have GP 8.0 on SQL with two companies set up. We are being acquired by a larger company who wants us to combine the two companies into one under a new name. I don't need history older than 12 months for either company, but I need the employee history. Microsoft told us they don't support combining companies. Has anyone had success with this?

Thanks
Cory

We have amalgamated several companies but only transfer in the beginning balances, and leave the history in the old company.

As for the employee history, payroll is a separate module , so you can probably DTS all the payroll information/years you want into the new company as long as there isn't conflicting data. Can you try DTSing the tables to a dummy company and use the Append method?

Thanks!

I am working on setting up a test environment now. We will give that a try.

Thanks
