Hi,

We currently have two analog lines running two fax machines.

One of the faxes will be removed but we still want to receive faxes from that line on another fax machine.

What would be my best solution?

I am using a Mitel 3300 ICP. SW version: 7.1.4.9_1.

Thanks!

I am not very familiar with call rerouting so should I create a call rerouting assignment with the extension where I want to reroute and set this assignment number to "Day", "Night1", "Night2", "1st Alt." and "2nd Alt." ?

Assuming the analog lines are connected to the PBX you just need to change the termination point in the Trunk Attributes form.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

You could also delete one of the numbers on the Analog Port and recreate it as a Speed Call pointing to the real Fax Extension Number

Depending on your software level you will have one of the following 2 forms

Trunk Attributes or Truck Service Assignment

Both operate the same

Each Analog trunk will be assigned to a different trunk Attribute (service Assignment). This can be checked via the Analog Trunk Assignment form.

Each Attribute (service assignment) will be assigned to terminate on specific DN's in Day. Night 1 and Night 2. These DN's will match the local fax extensions.

You can either set the trunks to both use the same Attribute (service Assignment)
or
You can change the Attributes (service Assignment) to match.

@dannytaylor,

Can you confirm whether they are analogue lines (trunks) or analogue extensions. This will help further in your solution as there are assumptions being made both ways.
I know people that will call everything lines and it needs to be clarified.
Programming will be different for each scenario.

when you say "analog lines" do you mean analog trunk lines or analog station lines? How do the fax numbers get to the 3300? Are they analog trunks connected to the 3300 and pointed to the analog stations that connect to the faxes? if so then kwbMitel is pointing you the way to go. If the fax telephone numbers come in on PRI or SIP trunks then you need to follow benny89's advice and create a speed dial to point the fax telephone number to another analog fax extension.

So as sarond says more detail please.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

First, I would like to thank all of you for your help. I did not know this community was so active and helpful.

For my "analog lines", I will try to answer from the best I know. My guess would be that these are analog trunk lines. There are 6 Analog Trunk Assignments with card type "Hybrid 4 ONS 6 LS". I have been put in charge of the system without any training. I have managed to do most of the operation and maintenance stuff but I still have a lot to learn.

Currently, there are System Speed Call Assignments for all the analog extensions and they look like this:

Speed Call Number: 631999
Actual Number: 5999
Override Toll Control: No
Type: S/C

So, based on what I have been suggested, I should change that "Actual Number" to the one where I want this line to be redirected. Am I right?

Thanks!

***Update***

First, I created a new call redirection assignment and assigned it to day, night1, etc. and it worked.

But I found the speed call option easier so I tried it (changed the "actual number" to the one I wanted it redirected to) and it worked fine.

I will keep it that way if that's the way to go.

Thanks!
