Hi

I`m quite new to Lotus Approach and I am after some advice about column totals. Basicaly I have created my worksheet and almost finished it, but I can`t figure out how to create the total of any column.

Can anyone please give some advice.

Thanks

To follow on from my previous question - I have seen the "calculate the total" icon, but it is always greyed out. I also exported the fle as a Lotus 123 9 Workbook and was able to edit the file and use the "calculate the total" icon, with no problems.

Am I missing something here? I have changed the properties of the column into every available format ie: currency, display as entered and numeric. Yet always all of the calculate functions remain greyed out.

Is there an answer to this?

Mark, an Approach worksheet is not a "spreadsheet" in any way other than appearance with columns and rows. There are no summary capabilities either on columns or rows. If you want to summarize data, use a report view. Or you may find a "crosstab", which is similar to an Excel pivot table, of use to you.

Thanks for your reply.

That has cleared that up for me. The report view worked a treat, not sure about the `crosstab` though.

Thanks
