Good Day,

Is there a way to disable the 'cheerful' colors in vi?

Regards,
Dan

Hi

In Vim [tt]:syn off[/tt]. Not sure whether it works in Vi too. Try it.

Hi

Wondering why you want no highlighting.
[ul]
[li]In case you find the text vs. background contrast too low, you can tell Vim about your terminal's background color intensity. Type [tt]:set bg=light[/tt] or [tt]:set bg=dark[/tt], and Vim will adjust the text colors to increase contract.[/li]
[li]In case you find the color palette disturbingly color rich, you can change the color scheme. Type for example [tt]:color pablo[/tt] for a mildly colored scheme. ( I got it installed together with Vim. ) ( Note that after typing [tt]:set color [/tt] you have tab completion for the available schemes. )[/li]
