colors gone funky 1

i recently had a problem with exception errors, in the course of fixing the problem i turned off all but but the basics(using accessories/system info/ systm config/ and uncheckin the boxes on general) this made the colour go a bit funky. the system is now runnin fine and ive turned everything back on but the colour has stayed the same. ive tried goin to control panel/display and changing it from 16 to 256 then restarting but it just goes back to 16.
any ideas appriciated

Just a suggestion, try reloading the video drivers.
