Hello
I need to know whether is it possible to perform data compression using a HP Colorado tape under Windows NT Server 4. The default NT apple does't allow this feature, using the option /hwc in the command line, NT ignores it. I've service pack 3, and I used the driver supplied with my backup set (a Colorado 5 GB ide). I've looked for this information in the hp site, but I didn't find a solution. They suggest to use the Colorado Backup II software, but I didn't get any result.
I'd like to know if a service pack (4 or more) can solve this problem.

Thank you

Elena
Italy

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if my memory serves me correctly NT does not support HW compression for IDE drives. As a matter of fact, I never had anything but problems using IDE tape drives with NT. Your best option is to go with an inexpensive SCSI drive if cost is a concern.
