work on a base. We have an 11C in a vault that bounces off of an Avaya switch that runs to the Base Switch. Our issue is, they changed the dialing scheme to access off base numbers... used to require dialing 99, now they want to change to a straight 7 dialing format. Thanks in advance for any help.

you are right on with your question. We used to dial the last digit of our prefix (554-1000 = 4-1000) now they want us to dial 554-1000 and have eliminated 4-1000 capabilities.

we used to utilize 4-XXXX, 2-XXXX and 6-XXXX for on base to on base dialing. all of those are config'd as

DN 4 DN 2 DN 6
TYPE CDP TYPE CDP TYP CDP
STCD DSC STCD DSC STCD DSC

So I am assuming that config'ing

DN 55
TYPE CDP
STCD DSC

would solve the problem?

yep, build a dsc with 5 set it to use whatever rli the others are using

now, anything 5xxxx will go out

sorry for my ignorance... can you tell me the ld, etc... thank you very much

also... i'm almost sure they're all tied into RLI 3... which ld do i run to ensure that's what they are utilizing?

djwht, should I build two... one as 554 the other as 556, that way anything that goes out 554-XXXX or 556-XXXX goes out? thanks..

LD 87 to print/change or create new DSC

REQ = prt
feat = cdp
cust = 0
type = dsc
code = press enter, this will give you all dsc code and what RLI they use

req = new
feat = cdp
cust = 0
type = dsc
code = 5
rli = the rli the others are using
ctyp = enter key, keep pressing enter till you see req again

you only need 5, but you can break it out more if you like
if you just use 5 then anything digit after the 5 will be sent down the rli you provided

ld 86 to print out your rli to see what route and what dmi table you're using

req = prt
feat = rlb
cust = 0
rli = x (enter the rli you got from the printout of LD87)
entry = press enter

to print the dmi table, LD 86

prt
dgt
0
# (= enter dmi # listed in the RLI printout)

djwht...

I found the LD(87) in the gob of books I have. I ended up using DN 55. I did this so I could utilize the same FLEN that was already in place. All works great!!

I really appreciate all the help from each and every one of you guys. Ace, dj, big and john. I am going to push to go thru the Nars/Bars class. this was a great experience and I was able to do some research as well as get the hands on. Exposed me to some wrinkles within that switch I wasn't even aware of. you guys ever come thru colorado... beers on me. have a great one!!
