work on a base. We have an 11C in a vault that bounces off of an Avaya switch that runs to the Base Switch. Our issue is, they changed the dialing scheme to access off base numbers... used to require dialing 99, now they want to change to a straight 7 dialing format. Thanks in advance for any help.

acewarlock...

to dial off base, you have to dial 99 NXX-XXXX. What they've changed is we used to be able to dial the last number of the prefix (ie 555-1111, we would just dial 5-1111) for all on-base calls... they have since done away with that and made it a 7 digit dialing scheme for on base calls ONLY. They did not change dialing 99 for calls going off base.

as for LD number, are you talking load? Sorry for the lack of knowledge.

thanks again...

bigindian...

off base dialing still requires the 99 NXX-XXXX, on base dialing has changed. All on base calls just require NXX-XXXX. thanks...

by the way... the 94 is still needed for government calls. Not sure if you guys are familiar with DSN formerly known as AUTOVON calls for military personnel.

hope so... people are getting a bit antsy.

can there be more than one number in AC1? I currently have 99, can I add... say 55 and be done?

no you can not. you will have to manipulate your nars/bars routing. will involve ld 86, 90, 87 with detailed changes. That is why Techs want big details to help you make the proper changes.

whoa. Do you know if it would entail adding a DMI and RLI?

skbc You are trying to change one of the most difficult programs in the Nortel switch. Without us being able to see what is programmed now and how everything is going to be changed, it's very dangrous to make these changes without proper training. what you need to do is follow a call though the software to see how it goes now and once you understand that, you might be able to make the changes that are required.

"dial 5-1111" 5 is probally an Access Code to a trunk.

In LD 20 do a
REQ PRT
TYPE DNB
CUST 0
DN 5 This may point to a trunk access code.

If it does point to an access code you will neeeed to change it to 555 instead of 5.

Is very hard to give you any advice without have all the info about the way your system is programmed.

acewarlock..

think we may have stumbled upon something. Our mission was to use the straight 7 digit dialing scheme... that just so happened to include 554 and 556 prefixes. Looking at LD 20 and the DNB, we found that 55 is in call Park. How can I do away with that. I think this would enable us to dial directly with the rest of the base.

thanx

DNB shows
DN 55
TYPE PARK

I looked and the only thing that shows me how to dump a Park is to know the TN... well there is no TN associated with DN. Our switch is configured with ICM numbers which equate to our DN's(ex: 328 is associated with TN 15 3)... so how can I out DN 55. We noticed when dialing 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55... we get a quick busy. Those are also the only DNs that have type PARK associated with them.

I don't have NTP's but I think it is in the CDB, prt it out and look for the 55 and change it.

misspoke... our DN are associated with TNs... the only DN's that don't have an association are 50-55. Those are the only ones with TYPE PARK. Everything else is TYPE 500.

thanks

ld 50
at the spdn change it to some other number

spdn 10 30 = 10 park dn starting with dn 30 (dn can be 4 digit)

is there a way to prt DN 50, other via DNB? And also, won't I have to know the TN before I can access spdn? thanks

no tns are associated with callpark dn

ld 20
prt
ludn
press enter

this will give you all your unused dn, pick any 10 continous number or how many park dn you want from this list to replace the 50-5x that's being used for cpk

how would I utilize a DN... I want to use 55 and config the way we used to use one of the DNs they used for the old 5 digit dialing.

55 is showing unused currently since we got rid of call park. we used to dial 6-XXXX to access on base numbers. The DN 6 is set up as:

DN 6
TYPE CDP
STCD DSC

I'd like ot utilize the unused DN 55 in the same fashion and see what it gives me. Don't know where to start. How would I implement that? thanks..

well, in order to dial out of the opt11, you only have a few option.

1. you either enter the route acod + number - no RLI needed
2. you enter AC1 acod + number - use RLI
3. you enter AC2 acod + number - use RLI
4. the number is a DSC or a TSC - use RLI

A) you use to dial 5+number for all on base dialling... correct?
B) now you have to dial 5xx + number?

A) if this is the case then its option 4 otherwise none of us are on the same page as you.

B) could be option 4 or 3 utilizing 2 digit LOC and 5 is AC2 acod

print out all your dsc or tsc and see if you have anything listed and do the same for ac2 LOC

I think it's 4. our AC2 is actually 94 for DSN or formerly Autovon for Military worldwide.
