I loaded Lotus 1-2-3 Release 5 inot a computer running Windows XP. I am unable to bring up the color palette when I invoke STYLE, LINES and COLOR and change text or background color, etc. Has anyone observed and overcome this problem.

I have the same problem. The color palette is there, it is just invisible. If you look closely you will see a small square, this is the current color choice cursor. If you click around it you will get new colors, it's kind of hard to select colors when you can't see them.

I am still investigating and have found this question on several other boards, but so far no solutions.

I Finally Fixed It. I am now running 123 Release 5 WITH THE COLOR PALETTE WORKING.

I went to Display Properties, Appearence, Effects and "unchecked" all of the effects boxes and then clicked apply.

When I started 123 the color pallet was there and working.

Since these settings are per user, you must be logged on as the user who is going to run 123 when you change the display settings.

Thanks Rick6. I only recently loaded 123R5 and came up against this problem. I took it 1 step further & determined that only the first box needed to be unchecked. (Transition effect for menus & tool tips) Thanks again
