Color issue

I have this problem with the color tone of my pictures in photoshop only. To illustrate this, I have taken a screen shot.


The picture was done by filling the background black, and using the gradient tool to make a sphere white->transparent. This is when the problem is most obvious.

I have just recently uninstalled/reinstalled PS, removing all saved settings. This did not change anything. If you have any idea what is going on with this, or how to change it, I would be extremely greatful.
 
Just a guess here but try running the Adobe Gamma program (and use the Wizard) in the Control Panel (thats if you are on Windows. If you are on Mac I recommend the same but have no idea where it's located ;-))
