I am currently running SMS 2.0 SP4 on a W2k server. I have a variety of OSs throughout the office, but my problem seems to be with NEW W2k Pro machines being put into production. The "Systems Management" applet appears in the control panel and everything (appears) to have installed properly. I have confirmed this by checking this against existing W2k machines on my network. I have tested and confirmed that all the other aspects of SMS work correctly. My problem is that the new machines do not show up in the "All Systems" collection in the admin console. I have added W2k machines in the past w/o issue. There have been no hardware changes on the server and the only software changes have been security patches and W2k SP4. For the record I am able to make changes to current collections with existing collection information, so I do not believe it is an issue with SMS and SQL communication.

When you check the %windir%\ms\sms\core\data\SMSAsign.ini are the clients assigned? Are all options correct in the SMS applet (e.g. Site assignment, components installed)? If you choose repair for SMS Client Base Components e.g., does the component return to "Installed" status? How many sites do you have? Is this in a secondary or primary site? Is it happening in only one site?
