Hi,

I'm from belgium and want to create a table where I can put Russian text in it. The problem is that I can create a table with codepage 1251 but I can't set the collate sequence to Russian .
Collating sequence "RUSSIAN" is not found (Error 1915)

When i copy and paste the russian text into the table all I get is questionmarks.

Can somebody help me

many thx

You may need a later version of VFP. I'm currently using 5 & 7. SET COLLATE TO RUSSIAN is available in 7, not in 5.

Someone else ??

Russian is specifically listed as available in the Help. It also says:

When using the SET COLLATE TO command, you may receive the error "Collating sequence <sequencename> is not found." This occurs when you attempt to use a collating sequence that is not supported by the current code page. To prevent this error, you must specify a compatible code page in your Visual FoxPro configuration file. For instance, you may see the error "Collating sequence 'CZECH' is not found" when issuing the command SET COLLATE TO 'CZECH'. To enable support for the Czech collating sequence, add the following line to your config.fpw file and restart Visual FoxPro:

CODEPAGE = 1250

I have tried this but still I can't copy and paste russian text into the memofield. It still showes ??????? in it.

Do you know the solution. HAs anyone a practical example for this problem. You can send the code or table to verynice70@hotmail.Com

Thx for trying...

Vanni,

This is not a collating sequence issue. If you can't see the Russian text, changing the collating sequence will not make any difference.

Could it be that the code page of the table does not match the code page of your Visual Foxpro session? You can check that by using CPCODEPAGE() and CPDBF(). If they don't match, put a CODEPAGE = line in your Config file, specifying the codepage of the DBF.

I assume that you are using a Russian font to display the text?

Hi,

My codepage of the table and the session are both the same 1251. Must I use a russian font to display it ?
