Here’s my issue :

I’ve installed CF Application Server 4.5 on my desktop. (Yeah, I know real smart, huh? :) ) Anyway, my machine’s not very good.

I have a partitioned drive, and I couldn’t install CF on C:\ because of space restrictions, so I installed it under the directory where supposedly my PWS is installed. The drive is D:\SP6A\I386\.

We have another CF Admin Server in our company, but its frequently down, so I had the bright idea of hosting my own CF pages. However now I’ve run into development environment setup issues.

My question is – How do I access the CF login screen? No URL I enter will get me to my Cold Fusion server. This leads me to believe that I must tweak the web server.

I also can’t really access my web server. I think its there, though. If I do the regular Start / Programs / Administrative Tools (Common), and if I try to select “Remote Access Admin” the screen tells me “No Remote Access Servers were found in the domain.”

Here’s my machine information:
Computer Name = \\desktopcomputer
Domain = Companyname
IP = 10.11.10.92

If I try to select the proper domain, my computer doesn’t show up, and if I try to say “Start Remote Access Service” for \\desktopcomputer, I receive a MS Error “Error Starting Remote Access Server Service on desktopcomputer. Check the event log on desktopcomputer for details. Error53: the Network path was not found.”

Since this is a local machine that I’m trying to contact, do I need to connect to the network. Also, my desktop machine is on the network.

Please help. I only want to host my CF Admin pages. Also, any assistance you could give to get me to the PWS service would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm not a network person, but I suppose you guessed that by now.

Thanks in advance,

Hi tleish,

Thanks for responding so quickly. No, I get Page can't be displayed error when I try to access I get the same thing when I enter
The CFIDE directory is under my partitioned drive D:\. So it's location is:
D:\SP6a\i386\CFIDE\... I just can't get to it from a browser, and I can't open my web server admin screen.

Hope that gives more info.

Thanks,

Can you access any files on your web server? If not, the first place to be looking is make sure the web server is up and running.

Secondly, the CFIDE needs to be accessible in your web environment, the best way to accomplish this is in the installation of CF Server, it asks where you want to install the documentation. You should choose an area that runs in your webserver (example - D:\Inetpub\- tleish
