Cognos slow?

Hi there,

I have question, we have just started using Cognos 7.0 and foun it to be very slow is this a common problem with Cognos? Was it slow in earlier versions of cognos. some reports take up to an hour to be built.

- verify the sql is efficient

- optimize or eliminate the various functions in expressions that are not needed.

- check pc performance, temp space, ect...

Give this a shot and let me know. We were having the same problem and things were fixed as soon as we made the change:

Solution:

Open cogdmor.ini in your favorite text editor. Under the appropriate version of the Oracle database change -

Case_To_Decode=T

to

Case_To_Decode=F
