Hi to all!

I have the following question: Is it possible to create makros (Cognos Script Language), written for example in the Cognos Script Editor, also for different reports that are prompted and shown in the Cognos WebViewer (Internet Explorer)?

The macros work fine for the normal Powerplay reports (.ppr/.ppx) when they are opened with Powerplay. But I want these makros to run in the WebViewer.

Is there any possible foreseen way to integrate these macros in the WebViewer?

Maybe you can help me.

Thank you for answers in advance.

No; javascript is really your only option - called from activating the custom buttons at the bottom of the report. Don't forget that web access is sold as a zero-footprint method of data access with a browser - to include 'normal' macros that refer to local installs would go against this principle.

Dear drlex,

thanks for your answer.

I just thought that there might be a possibility within the Cognos product family that these 'normal' macros will be recognized by the WebViewer or even might be introduced in the customized reports laying on this web based application.

You're welcome. You can always request such from Cognos as a product enhancement.
