Cognos Installation Error- zlib.dll not found

Hi Experts,

I was trying to install Cognos V8.1.2 on Win XP-Pro machine. I have my Web service running and latest java installed on my machine. Also I have oracle 9.0.1.1.1 installed on my system.

At the end of installation I received an error message saying "cogconfigw.exe- unable to Locate component" This application has failed to start because zlib.dll was not found."

I have tried reinstalling it several times but no luck so far.

Any help would be appreciated.

Redownload the media from support.cognos.com and re-extract with winzip. Then try again.
