Hi,

I am new to Cognos.

A cube is processed on the windows server through a batch file(MS-DOS) and presently we are manually checking the logs to know if the cube process was successful or not, the following day.

Since this would become cumbersome if there are 100s of cubes, Please let me know if there is a way to know if the cube process was successful through some return code(from transformer), which can be checked in the Batch file or any other means.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks
Ash

if u use the macro, then u'll get a boolean return value about the cube build status and u can decide on that.

sudhi

Additionally, with Macros, you can use the On Error function and calls to your email program to send a message detailing the name of the cube that has failed.

Thank you both for your reply. I was able to resolve it.

Hi Ash,

Could you post your resolution here. I am facing the similar situation. We are building the cubes using batch files and checking the log files manually. I want to avoid this by capturing the error automatically.
I think your resolution would help me out.

thanks in advance
dwpro.
