I am just getting into vfp 6.0. I have a .prg to
open a fpw 2.6 file and convert it to a new vfp
format. Problem is it always asks me to select the
codpage for the old file. Is there any way to
tell vfp to open that file with a specific or default
codepage ?

TIA mike

You can set this prompt off if you wish by a couple ways. Go to the Tools->Options dialog and select the Data tab. Uncheck the "Prompt for code page" checkbox. Or you can use the SET CPDIALOG OFF command from the command window.

When you make yourchanges to the table and save it, it will have the current code page set.

There is a program CPZERO.PRG available for download from MicroSoft that will put a codepage byte into a database header. You just provide the name of the file and the code page (see Microsoft support Q129631)

Hope this helps.
