Codec version for Opt11 2

Is there a way to see what the codec the opt 11 is using.

Where is the codec info?
 
A-law, and Mu-law are not codecs.

In element manager under your node configuration, you define which codecs you want to use, along with any configurable options.

If you track an active IP call, then the codec info is displayed in the returned data:

Just remember that on an option 11 the commmand in LD 80 to trace a TN is trak <tn>.
 
would it be assumed that the MU-Law is using the G.711 codec? I am not using IP.
 
Mu-law is the standard for North America and Japan. Most of Europe uses A-law.

G.711 is the codec that provides the highest voice quality, and uses the most bandwidth. G.729 is the next highest quality codec and can use substantially less bandwidth than G.711.

Both are common. I would not assume you are using one over the other. It is easy enough to check and verify.
 
Mu-law and A-law are codec (they are standar PCM codec), since mbrio IS NOT using any IP telephony, then base on his PARM printout, he's using Mu-law.
