Codec Errow with .avi running Media Player 7.1

Hi,
I get a "codec error" when I try to open a .avi file. I have Windows 98 SE using the recommended Media Player for windows 98SE which I think is Media version 9 series?

When I click on the .avi file, it tries to open it as a song when it's not a song.

Are there any patches out there for this?

Hi,
If you do a search for K-lite codec in google you'll come upon a free set of codecs. they've solved most of my codec related problems.
