codac problem

I have an AVI that was created in premiere on another computer. I now want to open this file in premiere on my computer. Unfortunately it will not open as I don’t have the appropriate codac. I dont access to the computer it was created on to find out what codac was on there.

My question is can I find out what codac this file is, so I can install it on my computer? I have looked at the property’s of the file but there no use.

Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

Look under tools and you can download a program that will analyze the file to see what codec was used.
