Hi all,
I have a CMS R13, I went to find out how many licences it has by running CMSSVC, I even logged in as root! all I get is a message saying unable to execute. One thing has crossed my mind has this command been changed to only run on the Console. I am accessing the unit remotely as it housed in a secure area.

yours confused!

I was able to execute 'cmssvc' reomtly on an R3V13 CMS by first logging in a csm and then su'ing to root. The file lives in the /usr/bin directory. Make sure that you PATH variable contains the correct directory.

# env
_=/usr/bin/env
MANPATH=/usr/man:/usr/dt/man:/usr/openwin/share/man
HZ=100
PATH=/usr/sbin:/usr/bin
EDITOR=vi
LOGNAME=cms
MAIL=/usr/mail/cms
PS1=#
SHELL=/usr/bin/ksh
HOME=/export/home/cms
TERM=4410
PWD=/export/home/cms
TZ=US/Mountain

Thanks 4merAvaya,
I didn't even think to 'grep' for it.
