In CMS v12, I know that to change a User's password you need to login as root, then type passwd <user id> but can you reset the User so that when they login next time the server will prompt them to create a new password before continuing to login?

Thanks

Try using your procedure, but instead of entering the new password just hit return.

passwd -f <userid> will force a password change at next login

Thanks all for the help.

passwd -d <userid> deletes the password to blank and forces the system to ask for a new password.

There was a FAQ on this...

Thanks,
