Hi ..
I have to reload historical interval tables to the CMS..I dont see any reports older than 2 months (interval report for Skills)..For this planning of restoring from tapes/

Can anyone tell me how to do that..?

Historical Interval data can only go back a max of 62 days from current date.

If the data is of extreme importance for a period, you would need to generally follow the steps below.

1) turn off data collection
2) BACK UP your system TWICE before going any further.
3) reset the date on the CMS to the time period you need. (ie) if yo need to restore data for Sept 2006 Set your date to sometime in October 2006
4) reterive your backup tape from End of month for September (you do have one right?)
5) follow the restore process.
6) once you have reterived the data you need reset the time on the system
7) restore the data from the tapes in step two
8) turn on data collection again.

This whole process will take several hours and you will loose the data between when you start and when you finish

Hi,

There is no need to reset the date of the CMS. You have to program a pseudo-acd on CMS and load the data from the tape on this pseudo-acd. Make sure you backup CMS before you start.

the date does need to be reset if you are trying to look at historical interval data. As soon as the data is restored the system will do an interval sumerization which will imediately delete and interval data older than 62 days.

Tolson is absolutely right. Good catch. The data storage allocation tables are probably set to 62 days. If you want to keep interval data longer than this it is possible, however you need to have the data storage allocation tables modified. DON'T DO THIS YOURSELF UNLESS YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND THE IMPACT ON BOTH STORAGE AND PERFORMANCE. You also need to know how to verify the freespace after making the changes.
