CMS Error

Ok every hour (2:38, 1:38, 12:38 etc) The CMS appears to loose connection. I'm getting the error "SPI session error: data collections session is down"

What can cause this and where should I look first for answers?

From the CMS Administration Manual, maintenance error logs.

An error has occurred in the X.25 connection to the switch. CMS data is not being collected. CMS will automatically try
to restore the link.

If the link does not re-establish by itself within five minutes, check the cables, modems, and other hardware between
the CMS and the switch for any obvious loose connections.

so,

I would definately check all the connections from the CLAN card to the CMS server.

That was the very first thing I checked I have also confirmed the the port speed for the network connection is set to 100/full.

Any other ideas?

Bit late now but did you check the level of CLAN firmware? This would be my first step...
