Hi all,

I have an issue at a client site running CME7.1 (IOSver.12.4.22(YB4)) connected to a PRI E1.

sometimes, when a user dials an external number and the call connects but there is no audio. Same thing happens when an external call is received. When the caller redials a second time, the call completes successfully. It doesn't happen all the time, just at random intervals.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks in Advance.
Phil

This may be an issue with a specific channel on the PRI. Logged into your router with term mon on, debug isdn q921 and q931. You should be able to see which voice channel the call is going out on. You can also see this by completing a show voice call sum. If you able to narrow this issue down to a specific channel that would explain why it's an intermittent issue and why it may work on the redial as it is prob using a different channel. Then it's just a quick call to the local telco to report the specific PRI channel. Just a thought and hope this helps.

Great thanks.

Will try it out. Did multiple tests but could not replicate the problem as yet. In the interim, I've changed the outgoing B channel selection to ascending, since the telco passes the calls in a descending order.

Sounds like perhaps a channel or two on the PRI has a problem. Could be either end. Could also be the DSP channel associated with whichever B channel(s) has the problem. Debugs to identify which B channel is being selected when the problem occurs will help point the direction.
