Anyone have any tips/tricks to speeding this up? I have quite a few of these to do an it seems like timing myself for:

sys plat
sys plat patch
cm template
kernel patch
plat patch
cm service pack

It's putting me at about 3.5 hours. Does that seem to be the norm or are they any speedier tips for the base install?

Yeah, most of the stuff in SP's webpage is calling scripts that run into the virtual machines - like even swversion from CLI is a script that runs the equivalent in each virtual machine and prints back, but takes minutes. I also find most of the information in it is out of date with regards to a "real time" display of status of things - like the "application state" of bsm takes forever to show active, despite it showing as such in the BSM, in SMGR, etc.

In any event, aside from the amount of time it took to install...worked fine.

If you are reformatting an already built s8300 CM, do you need to enable telnet on the web interface for you to be able to interrupt the startup to go to the dvd rom? Can't seem to get this specific one to cooperate.

Nope, it will just work since it's booting via the DVD. Are you familiar with the DAD issue using Windows 7 though? Also did you clear arp via arp -d?

My company laptops are so locked down I can't even run that command w/o elevated rights. So, I busted out my person XP laptop and worked instantly. Unreal.
