I have inherited 2 CM 7.X systems. I want to tie these 2 together to do network calling over our WAN. Is there documentation out there for this. SIP trunking an option? I set up the SIP trunks for the 2 to talk to our Exchange UM system but I cannot figure out what I need to do to get the 2 CM's talking to each other. Route patterns? Any help is very much appreciated. I clicked the wrong title I am a tech and not management. Anyone know how to change your title on here?

you could do it with SIP trunks but the easiest and recommended way is via intercluster trunks. Add a ICT trunk on each cluster and point it to the other, route calls in between and you are set.

The call routing is what I am a tad intimidated by. Any good white paper on how to set up call routing? Thanks for the ICT info. I really appreciate it.

you need to go on cco and read the system administrator guide. It explains how route patterns work as well as explain best practices.

Thanks. Yeah because I built the ICT in both CM's and made sure they were pointed at the other CM. Tried setting up route pattern but I am missing something as it says could not complete call. Thanks for all your help though!

I honestly do not know how to even go about that. I am completely new at this.I am still trying to figure out how to setup route groups and patterns and lists for an ICT.If I even need all three.

Ok I can ping it at 0.328ms. So it must be a routing issue.
