At a previous location we used Unity for an Auto Attendant on the main number "to dial your party by name ..."

We have since moved to a new location and are using a standard line extension as the main number. I would like to give the admin the ability to forward the main line to that auto attendant when necessary, but when I attempt to have that done via CFwdAll, I'm getting forwarded to the general voicemail greeting.

I can call the attendant number directly and it works, but not the forwarding from any other extension. The CTI route point for the AA is in the same CSS as the phones. The DN assigned to that route point is also in the same route partition and CSS as the other phone extensions. Any ideas on where I can look? Perhaps I'm missing something in Unity?

If the phones you are forwarding to that number already have voice mail they will go to their greeting, although you are forwarding to that. This is standard Unity function.

For the main number for that site, delete it's mailbox, if it has one and create a new call handler that points to that dial by name directory.

Crap ... I had been hoping for the ability to forward to that dial by name but what you are saying makes sense, and is in fact what the extensions are doing.

I'll have to chat with the local admin about using that dial by name for the main site mailbox alternative. My guess is, after doing that I can simply forward extensions to the main site number, getting the same effect I needed initially.
