All of our phones point to one 46xx settings file. We are putting in a 9611 phone for patient use, and we do not want redial, and some other features. I am not finding any configuration in COS or COR that restricts redial. Wondering the best way to lock down an individual extension to just allow outside numbers to be dialed.

search your 46xxsettings file for redial

You would need to create a section in the 46xxsettings.txt file for a specific group with the needed parameters and then assign that phone to the group.

Thanks! I was hoping there might be an easier way for a handful of extensions. I will start looking at the settings file. I am so unfamiliar with making groups. We do not use them really.

Follow up, the only way to assign a phone to a group is to put the group un on the phone physically correct? In the CRAFT menu?

You can use the "Change station xxx" command in Communication Manager and go to page 3. There's a field about the middle of the screen for "IP Phone Group ID" where you can set the Group Number. The phone will have to reboot to get the new settings.
