The time did not change, when I try to change it says internal error. I wonder if I have to disable network time server

I disabled the network time server and I was able to change the time. Where does it say in the Avaya documentation that with a CM 3.1.1 you have to disable the NTS for the time to change..?

Our CM didn't change either although Avaya confirmed with us that we didn't need a patch.

Can someone tell me where I can disable NTS? I don't see it through the web interface to the S8700.

Thanks!

Our CM didn't change time as Avaya said it would.

How can I disable NTS? I don't see that as an option using the web tool.

Thanks!

Go to Maintenance in the web tool. select configure server. choose Configure individual services, then Configure Time Server

I was on the phone with Avaya and they said they are being slammed with calls this morning and it's affecting 3.1.1 and 3.1.2. The support guy said he hasn't received any 3.1.3 calls yet. I'm curious if this version was also affected.

Any news as to what happened? I was told a java bug was discovered last Friday.

Sorry about the double post. Thanks for the info Gebski! I'll try this although they Avaya guy told me his last two callers were unable to disable NTS.

We have 3.1.1 and it didn't change. Our voice team has been working with our vendor since 7am to try and fix.

Fun stuff....

Our 8700 time is still 1 hr behind, but some phones are showing the correct time and some are 1 hr ahead of the current time and it doesn't matter what phone type, some are IP some are digital.

Stinney,

Is your 8700 clocking off a network time server..? If it is disable it then try to set the time.

There is a update at Avaya's web site for 3.1 time issues

Avaya says to disable network time sync for all 3.1.x. is it just me or should they have known this was going to be a issue, you'd think Avaya would of done a little testing prior to the 11th, I'm sure they did but how could've something like this got missed.

FYI,

For those who may not be cognizant of the fact, our wonderful congress signed off on a bill that changed the daylight savings times rules. This change was never in any of the OS systems so patches were requied.

Avaya stated that CM3.1.x did not have any issue with the time change however as they found out this weekend that is not the case. There is a patch for CM3.1.2 (patch 12514) that can be loaded in conjunction with any other currently applied patch. There is currently no patch for CM3.1.1. You can upgrade (zero dollars but you would need to pay for tech time) to CM3.1.2. In the meantime, the only way to work this out is to disable the NTP Server through the maintenance web page and manually adjust your time.

You should also look on the Avaya web site. They did do a pretty good job at listing all the effected systems and the process for fixing the DST issue. Most of the patches are either a Microsoft patch, Linux patch or Solaris Patch.

For Microsoft patches look at Knowledge Base article 931836. This should have the most up to date version of the DST patch.

I was able to get the time to sync simply by changing the Timezone and then changing it back, when logged in through the maintenance webpage of CM 3.1.2 on my S8710's I checked the time and it was show EST, so I knew that something was screwy so I changed the time zone from US/Eastern to US/Pacific then back to US/Eastern and the time updated to EDT. Hope this helps folks that are trying to avoid installing yet another patch. I did this on Sunday and everything is still holding, we are using NTP.

Did anyone have the patch installed? What is the patch file name when you look on your server under Server/Software Version?
