Hi!

I have two catalyst 3500xl which I manage using cluster builder. They are linked through fast ethernet ports using a cross connection cable (ports on the same management vlan), and also they're connected using a gigabit cable. The two gigabit ports are configured as ISL trunks.

My question is, can I have both the two switches managed as a cluster and also be able to use the trunk link, using only the gigabit crossconnection?

Many thanks in advance,
Peter.

Spanning tree could be a useful thing to think about first?

It worked! Thank you very much. I had only to create a VTP domain, make the second switch join it and remove the non-trunk cable. Everything works fine now.

Thanks,
Peter.
