Is there any way to install win2k clustring service on ordineray IDE HDD?

Thanks

You'll have to use VMWare to use MSCS on a computer with an IDE disk. Otherwise you have to use SCSI equipment.

I have tried setting up a cluster with two simple SCSI cards and one SCSI harddisk but could not get this to work properly.

This may be possible with MSCS in Windows 2003. There are enhanced clustering features which will allow you to have a local quorum. Haven't been able to find much documentation on this--->check the microsoft site.

Yes, you can setup a MSCS on a IDE HDD.
The problem is that there is no shared storage - so there is no real failover between two systems. You are however able to setup/configure a MSCS solution on a single system. MS details the installation in the following technote.

Keep in mind this is generally used for testing things.

I hope that helps.
