Is it possible to have say an SQL cluster where each of the virtual servers reside in different subnets ?

I don't see why not, providing that the default gateway you are using is reachable from the network switch you are connected to.

You can have IPs from different subnets bound to the same NIC.

So is it possible to say have 3 nics (4 including the heartbeat) with each one being responsible for a different virtual server in a different subnet. I want to try and isolate each of the virtual servers as they would be used for different organisations...

Thanks

Yeah, In theory that should work. You'll have to test to be use. I don't have any hardware to test that on, so I can't help you out.
