In the lab I have some 2900 switches and I want to try out the cluster management software to see what it is like and how it works.

I can logon and access the main page for the switch and then i click on the Cluster management link. Everything loads fine, but it keeps asking for a username and password. The cisco website says to use the enable password for the username and pass but that does not work.

I am running ios version 12.0(5)WC2, I have reinstalled the ios software from the tar file. I have set the enable password and IP address for the switch.

I have checked cisco's website multiple times and still can not find an answer to my problem.

I ran into basically the same thing tonight on a 2912 XL-EN that I just picked up (new OEM) from a H/W liquidator. Turned out I had to unload the Java plug-in and load ver. 1.2.2 (D/L from a link in the above URL). I read here that using Netscape 6 will solve this prob too.

Don't enter a username and use the privledged password in the password filled. Make sure you have the java-plugin installed on you system. Works with IE or Netscape 4 and above...
