Ive just setup a cluster for our mail server.
When i shutdown one server, the clients didnt failover to the next server until they closed there mail-db and then re-oponed it.

Is there a way of making it failover with out having to close the users in-box?

thanX heaps

Hello,

Notes clustering awareness on the client side is only effective when doing "database open". So there's no way to transparently redirect clients to the surviving node.
Anyway, in some cases, if you want to read a particular mail, it will be treated as a "database open" request and then file over might occure.
So best solution for transparent failover is using MSCS underneath Notes.

Regards,
Michel
