Hi guys

I have 3 units 3com 4200G. Every switch has own IP address.
I'd like cluster all those switches to one management IP.

first switch has 192.168.1.10, I did cluster enable and I try add ip poll with 192.168.1.10 but I receive msg - cannot add cluster private ip
so I have to change ip before cluster is enable ??
can I not use "old" ip address on this switch ??

thanks for every suggestion !!

Maybe your [blue]ip-pool[/blue] statement needs to define a netmask for the pool. Were you in the cluster view?

hello again

I try do cluster by web-interface, at the moment switch is candidate and on
Cluster -> Cluster(setup)
mark Build a cluster and to be commander
set up cluster name
IP Pool (Commander IP) 192.168.1.10
Mask of IP Pool: 255.255.255.0
and I received message: Can not add cluster private IP address or stack primary IP address to vlan interface.

everything is on vlan 1

thanks for help guys

is ok now I found solution
IP pool must be different then vlan ip address
I set up IP pool for cluster: 172.10.0.1 with /29

now I see 1 comander switch and 2 members FANTASTIC !!

BUT :)

I have problem with manage members switch (by web and command line) from commander switch
by web: this page cant be display
by cmd: connection lost by remote host

and one more thing
How I can "delete" IP address (192.168..) from members switches

thanks a lot for help

the problem is solved
it was ACL's on members switches

so :)

current situation
I have 1 commander switch
primary address 192.168.1.10 /24
cluster address 172.16.0.1 /29

first member switch
primary address 192.168.1.11 /24
cluster address 172.16.0.2 /29

first member switch
primary address 192.168.1.11 /24
cluster address 172.16.0.2 /29

how I can release primary addresses from members switches what was my primary target

I tried add cluster addres as primary but I see msg about conflict address

any ideas ?
